Charlie Brown and Peppermint Patty

Hi Michelle,

Look at how big they are getting! :)

They just got their rabies shots yesterday. One more round of shots in a few weeks and they are finally done with puppy shots.

CB weighed in at 15 lbs and PP is still smaller than him at 11 lbs.

Jessica Lee

Sally aka Morgan

Back in September my daughters and I adopted one of six beagle puppies that you had available. At the time she was named Sally. Our entire family play soccer on a regular basis and as a result we named her after Alex Morgan who plays for the US Women's National Soccer Team; she is now known as Morgan. Morgan has been an incredible addition to our family. My daughters and I love having her as part of the family and she is well liked by everyone that meets her. She is great with other peoiple and other dogs and she has proven to be very smart. She is potty trained, went to obedience class and knows how to sit, come, stay, and many other commands and tricks. She is going in on Monday for her spay surgery, but aside from that she has been perfectly healthy. She is almost 13 pounds and appears that she will be a small beagle (which my youngest is excited about).

We are very grateful to have been accepted to adopt her and feel very fortunate to have such an amazing dog that has such a wonderful temperament and disposition. She is incredibly sweet and loving. I am attaching a couple of photos for you to see how she's grown. We get compliments constantly about how cute she is and the great markings that she has.

Thanks so much for allowing us the joy of adopting Morgan (Sally). She has been a blessing!!!

Thanks,
Mike, Kaitlyn, Kylie, and Morgan Schultz

Gus Gus

Hello to all of the wonderful people who work at or with your organization. We addopted Gus Gus about 3 1/2 years ago. I have meant to keep you posted but have had some health issues and just never was able to do so. GusGus was the name you gave our little roly poly and my niece kept the name for him because of Cinderella. GusGus is the best dog we have ever owned and one of the smartest. He is such a loving dog and HATES to be alone. He loves sitting in the yard and just watching everything around him. Even our neighbors have treats for him at their houses when he goes to visit. Thank you so much for bringing us together, I can't imagine life without him. I recommend adoption/rescue with your organization to everyone I know! Thank You, God Bless You All & Happy Holidays!

Buzz our Russian Blue

We adopted Buzz back in July 2012 when he was about 9 weeks old.
He moved right in and became BF's with our golden retriever! Buzz is one great cat and we believe he is a Russian Blue. He thinks he is a dog, try's to talk to us with different levels of meows and follows us all over the house. Finds the little things to entertain himself with and certainly knows how to gain our attention. Here is a shot of him cat napping!

Bo aka Socrates

Here are a couple pictures of Bo (Socrates). Two weeks after getting him, a friend had to give up her dog. I took him in and Bo has a best friend and loves to snuggle with him. Shortly thereafter, I came down with shingles, so it was great for Bo to have a playmate while I recovered. Bo will be getting neutered on December 20th. Vet said he is doing great!. Well send more updates and pictures

Shadow AKA Ripley

She is such a joy to me! She was 8.7lbs when I got her and she weighed in at 23lbs at the vet. She is growing alot too!

Thanks,

Theresa Kelly

Monteray AKA Penny

Hi Melinda,

I was looking at the original web posting for Penny, the German Shepherd puppy I adopted in August, and who you fostered, and thought I'd send you an update on what she looks like now! She's 4 months old and a smart little cookie. :) She's definitely a fun, rambunctious puppy who loves people, but she's also very independent and likes to do her own thing sometimes.

Here she is!

Shadoe now Ripley

I adopted Ripley, the flat coated retriever mix puppy two weeks ago at the HIllside PetCo adoption event. I cannot say enough good things about your organization or about my new forever companion Ripley. She came to me already crate trained (big kudos to her foster family - they did a great job with her training!) and she has not had any accidents in the house. She tells me when she needs to "go" by whining and barking. That is pretty much the only time she barks except when she sees the horses which she is still very excited about so she can't help herself! This girl is so smart, she already knows "sit" and today she learned the command "down" - when i pat the ground she lays down! She is friendly with people and other dogs and has a blast running and playing with my friends dogs at the stable! She does have a serious obsession with blowing leaves and loves to chase them! When she is bigger and the weather is warm next Spring she will be able to go swimming in the creek
behind my house. I always dreamed of having a puppy and she is the puppy of my dreams.

Pauline now Samantha

Samantha is doing extremely well. She acclimated immediately to everyone and
everything in the house but the dog. She had him trained within a few days to
not come within two feet of her. The dog loves to play with cats...perhaps
someday.

After about two weeks, she has started to run up and down the stairs and seems
to have more pep to play (she is slimming down with lo fat food)

Thank you again for the care that you showed her

Cub Creek

Hi Michelle,
Hope all is well with you and your dogs! We just wanted to give you a update on Cub and tell you how great he is doing! He is such an amazing dog, we are so happy we have him in our lives. He has really come out of his shell and is a wild man! He has a lot of play dates with Ryan's parents dog Ange,l she is a Westie. They run and play all day long, he is such a fast runner and goes crazy in the back yard. He really is such a blessing to have, and we are so thankful for people like you that rescue dogs in need! We wanted to give you some pictures he looks like a different dog, his fur is long and he has a lot more of it!

Millie AKA Payton

Payton is our adorable little pug mix and she is the sweetest little dog. She LOVES to cuddle, she is very smart and she is also a very content dog. She is very easy going and has been a wonderful addition to our family. She especially loves our other puppy girl named Staley. They run around with so much energy and it is easy to see they are very happy to have each other. Payton's favorite games are fetching her toys, sitting and giving her paw and playing chase with Staley. She is 5 months old now and weighing in at 8 lbs. We just love her little mug with her teeth hanging out. She makes us smile every single day!

BTW, her name Payton comes from the great Walter Payton. Our other puppy girl is named Staley, as in the Decatur Staleys, the original team name of the Chicago Bears.

Shilah

It was exactly two years ago I adopted Shilah ( formerly Shawna ) from Magnificent Mutts. It has been quite an adventure for my pack. I wanted to adopt a buddy for my Sheperd Dexter and I ended up saving a scared and skiddish little girl. I dont know what Shilah went through before she was rescued by Magnificent Mutts but it had to have been horrible! Shilah would not let me touch her for almost two monthes and when she finally did it was a simple stroke on her cheek. She would run so fast to get outside and past me sometime I could not slide to door open fast enough and she would run into it. She would only sleep when I slept and that was far away behind my dining room table. There was alot of pacing and watching me. I have to say that my dog Dexter has been an amazing role model for Shilah; where Dexter goes, Shilah will! She actually will lift her leg to pee just like her brother Dexter! I just gave her space and eventually Shilah came to me! I gave her her first
belly rub this summer...it only took a year and a half but it was everything to me! Shilah and Dexter love the dog park and going for hikes. She is so social and loving, Shilah even was on the local news for the dog swim event for the Madison K9 unit! Now I just need a bigger house so I can adopt another :)Rhiannon Belanger

Matilda

Magnificent Mutts,

First, we want to say what a great organization you have. Without all of your volunteers we would not have Matilda, who we adopted in June of this year. She is a great first addition to our family. She is everything we hope for and more.

Matilda loves to run with me(Jessica) and inbetween chase squirrels. She is also very smart and has learned how to be an obiedient dog quickly. (As you can see below from her doggie training completion.)

I also wanted to share a few photos of her. She is just too darn cute!

Thanks again!

Wilkommen Hans!

In March, we adopted our FIona (formerly Fendi), a 1 year old GS mix, from Magnificent Mutts. She has boundless energy and we felt she needed a playmate who could keep up with her, so we decided to get another dog. Seeing as my husband and I both love German Shepherds, we knew that was our number one choice. I saw Elgin, a 1.5 year old GSD. on Mag Mutts' Facebook page as well as the website, so I stopped by the adoption event to meet him. He was such a beautiful, sweet boy that I knew I wanted my husband to meet him too.- but it would mean waiting another week until the next event. Unfortunately, the following weekend, I was going to be out of town visiting a friend, so my husband would have to go alone to meet Elgin, and if things went well, he would have to introduce Elgin to Fiona without my help. Long story short, there was a lot of running back and forth between our house and the pet store, and we were in a time crunch because there was another family who was interested in him.
My husband had to give me updates over the phone; I felt like I was brokering a business deal! Finally, the good news was that Elgin was ours. The dogs had gotten along well, and my brave (or foolish) husband drove all the way home with both dogs in the back seat. Fortunately, they all made it home in one piece! We felt that our new boy needed a good German name, so he was christened "Hans", and we soon realized how smart he is when he learned it in a matter of minutes! He was a very anxious boy the first few days- pacing, panting, and constantly working a tennis ball in his mouth....but he quickly realized he was in a good place, with food, water, toys, and a loving family- no more runnning the streets of Elgin, eating God knows what! (That's where he got his name!) Hans is very protective and ultra-vigilant. He follows me everywhere I go! He is a ball of energy and never tires of roughhousing with his sister Fiona. We joke that he thinks he's her size (He's tried to get on our
laps several times) and she thinks she's his size! He is a good boy and we are happy to have him as part of our family.
