Clifford

Hi Wayne,
It's been a few weeks and wanted to give you an update on Clifford or Cliffy as we call him now. Saturday, after he got microchipped we came home and Cliffy was a little restless. He finally settled down and was asleep for about 3 hours straight. We thought, "Wow, he sure is a laid back dog". Everyday, he has perked up more and more. We worried about him, he would not play fetch, well last night he was running after his squeaky toy. We think he just needs time to adjust. The boys love him and he doesn't always come to them, but he is getting better. We think he was not raised in a house with kids, which is ok, he is very gentle with the boys-he sleeps in their room at night. I think it will get better with time. The boys feed him and take him on 2-3 walks a day-that should help their relationship.
Thanks again for considering us for Cliffy-he is a great addition to our house!
I've enclosed a picture of the boys and Cliffy.

Bandit aka Snoozlebug

Hi Magnificent Mutts,
Here is an update on Bandit (aka Snoozlebug) one of Mustang Sally's pups adopted in Feb 2013. I had never trained a puppy before, so I was a little freaked out bringing him home. However, as puppies go, I would say he was pretty easy. He was house trained in no time, loves his crate, and really doesn't get into much. Our biggest issue early on was his nipping at the children and being very mouthy. Thankfully he grew out of that. At 7 months, he 's about 58 pounds, so he should be a medium/large size dog, which is perfect for us. I love to look him in the eye and say, "Who are you and what have you done with Snoozlebug?" because he grew so fast. My best guess would be that he is mixed with Australian Shepherd, but his temperament is all German Shepherd. He is very playful, sweet, snuggly, smart, but not at all hyper. We have passed level II obedience training and are going to try to get our CGC in the fall. He knows how to walk on a leash, sit, stay, lie down, high five,
shake, kiss, and play dead. He no longer sleeps in his crate at night, instead he's become a huge bed hog. We live about 1 1/2 miles from a dog park which we visit almost daily. Bandit loves to play and wrestle with the other dogs there and has just recently become very interested in playing fetch with balls and frisbees. We like to joke that the dog park is his version of Disneyland: "the happiest place on earth". Bandit also has two human brothers 10 and 6, who absolutely adore him. They love to hang out in the back yard playing fetch and puppy soccer. He is completely spoiled with attention by everyone. Thank you Magnificent Mutts for helping us find our new family member. He is the perfect fit, we love our boy!

So Lucky!

We had been looking for the perfect dog to join our family for a few months. As this was our first pet, we wanted to make sure we found a perfect match for us. We visited shelter after shelter and then a friend told us about Magnificent Mutts. A week or so later, we heard about an older puppy that had been surrendered and immediately went to check him out. It was love at first sight!

The following week, we welcomed "Bullet" (who we immediately renamed Lucky) home! He is the perfect addition to our family -- friendly, happy, playful and sooo loving. He follows us wherever we go and loves snuggling up and getting belly rubs. He especially loves his human "brother and sister" and our kids just love playing with and caring for their new "little brother."

One week after adopting Lucky, we took him for his first-ever grooming. He is the softest, sweetest puppy around, and we are really the "Lucky" ones to have him in our lives!

Thank you, Magnificent Mutts, for completing our family!

With love and thanks,
The Knight Family

Happy Tail

Greetings from Wisconsin! My new mom says I don't look like a Roman emperor, so the first order of business was to give me a good German name! She says I'm the smartest dog ever because it only took me two days to figure out "Fritz" was me!

I will admit that for about a week I was quite depressed. Another new place, new people, another dog, and man, now two cats as well. I didn't eat much and I was quite a laggard on those long, exhausting, daily walks. Not to mention the fright I experienced going to this awful place called the "groomer;" but I do feel much better, trimmed nails and a clean, sweet smelling coat.

I'm happy to report after two months of living in the utopia of beer and cheese, I'm really, really, happy. Mom says she loves my displays of inner-puppy and that I'm doing awesome for an old-man with special needs. I'm even down to a svelte 105 (from 110), now that I'm prancing on my daily walks.

Thanks for help me make such a great match and thanks for all you do to rescue Magnificent Mutts like me! Go Pack! (Sorry, I cannot help myself, I've been indoctrinated.)

Guten Tag,

Grace

Hi, Wayne,

I hope you are doing well!

Grace is doing really well with us! She is settling in well and is already attached to us. She is also answering to her new name 'Grace'. J I saw how gracefully she came down the stairs and the name Grace came to mind for her.

I've taken her for her initial vet visit and she had an eye infection which is now thankfully clearing up with ointment drops. She's also had a bath at the groomer so now her coat is nice and shiny. She's also been at the dog park and had a great time. She's been at my mother-in-law's assisted living facility and the residents loved her!

She is also getting along okay with Austin. Boundaries have been set and she doesn't bother him.

So all is very good. We're very happy that we have her. Thank you to you and Joe for all your hard work to foster and provide people with lovable pets.

I will be calling the German Shepherd training center this week for her also.

Regards, Margaret.
