Three Mag Mutts Cats

Hi Angie,

Just wanted to send you some photos. The 3 boys are all getting along after a rough start. The first 2 weeks Charlie (formally known as Surgi) was not very happy that I had brought an outsider into the home. But now things are good. They play together and groom
Each other. I love these boys to death. Hopefully I won't see you for awhile otherwise I may ended up with a 4th love. Just wanted to share some of my photos with you guys.

Kelly aka Keller Update

Kelly is an Underdog rescued two years ago by Magnificent Mutts. She is a blind German Shepherd that was chained up outside in the Chicago 2011 Blizzard. Some dear MagMutt people rescued her, and then she was fostered by Fran. Her whole story is posted in Happy Tails and Underdogs sections on this site!

Fast forward to another snowstorm February 2013. Kelly is now an indoor dog - safe, warm, and happy! If you are hesitant about adopting a blind dog, please don't be. We are not saying that it is easy, but it is worth any extra effort. Blind dogs are amazing dogs as their other senses are heightened. Kelly can navigate almost anything. For new surroundings, we map out the area with her on a leash. She learns it right away! As for her home, you would not have a clue that she cannot see: She jumps on and off the bed, plays fetch, guards her fenced-in backyard, and knows the names of EVERY stuffed animal we have - at least 25 names. She feels them with her mouth and can discern each one by name!

Not a day goes by that she doesn't make us laugh with her antics! We only wish we had her from day one. We could do a whole story on her antics, but let the photos tell the story!

A big thank you to everyone at MagMutts for all of the precious animals you have saved!

Mary and Tracy

Kane's a sports fan!!

We just wanted to give you an update on our "big puppy," Kane. He is doing great!!! He pretty much loves everything (the car, walks, treats, his brother, the dog park, and especially dinner time). He is such a great guy, and he's been such a good fit for our family. He does get a little crazy sometimes, but hey, who doesn't? :) We are very grateful to Magnificent Mutts for all the hard work they do, and a big thank you to Caitlyn, who is still his Mom, too.

Koda (aka Rascal from Red's litter)

According to our adoption paper's Koda just turned one on the 6th of February and boy is he an energetic, playful pup. He loves going on hikes, swimming, jogging, and trips to the dog parks. He loves to learn and be trained (especially with treats) and he is the life of the party at the dog parks around our area. He weighed in at 72lbs around the one year mark. Hes healthy, loves to snuggle, and has been the best addition to our family! He's a very handsome boy and we thank you Magnificent Mutts and to Red's pups foster mom for this wonderful addition to our fam.

Ralphie (Rafferty)

Ralphie is such a sweetie! He's a great dog and is slowly settling in. He's great on the leash and is getting the swing of our schedule (his new schedule) but is still a little cautious; our cats definitely boss him around! After many trips to PetsMart, PetCo and Pet Supplies Plus, he's becoming less weary of other people. He's got some separation anxiety, but we're working on it with him. :-) He starts obedience training tomorrow (even though he already knows a few commands) and I can't wait for him to feel completely comfortable in our home.

Kota aka Kili

Thanks a lot, we are loving are little Kota (that's what we named her). I have attached a picture of her a few days ago. Also, do you have any other current pictures from this litter? We think Kota is mixed with German Shepherd, but she is pretty small still…only 15.5 lbs.

Thanks,

Casey Schuring

Here is an updated photo of Foxy. We adopted her on January 19th of this year. She's doing great! She is sweet and energetic, and it's fun to see her personality come out. She loves playing with a tennis ball in the back yard, going for long walks, and playing at the dog park.

Fiona aka Blondie

Hello!
It has been FAR too long, so I wanted to take this opportunity to send an update on Fiona Blondie Bailey. She is still the most amazing girl ever and we love her so much. She became a big sister on Nov 27 when I had a little girl, Grace. Fiona is amazing with Grace. She is very protective of her, always checking out the person who is holding her, just to make sure her baby sister is OK. During my pregnancy, she became extra protective, to the point of putting herself in between me and anyone she did not know. (Once, we had a contractor come into the house to meet with us, and Fiona would not leave my side, as we talked in the hall, kitchen, and basement. It was quite cute.) The last two days before I went into labor, Fiona was glued to my side, every move I made. I guess I should have known that meant something was going to happen soon! I know she can't wait until Grace gets a little bigger so they can play together.

Fiona has been getting lots of exercise on long walks with my husband or at the dog park. She has become adept at hunting mice at the dog park, and will spend her time equally between playing with other dogs, playing with my husband, and hunting mice! And of course, the cold weather doesn't bother her one bit. The colder it gets, the happier she is. I just don't understand that! In the spring and summer when there is open water at the dog park, Fiona loves running through the rivers and streams and jumping in the puddles. She doesn't seem too fond of full swimming, however, preferring her feet to always be on the ground. She is still the quickest dog at the dog park, enabling her to beat out any other dog in a chase. She is still not as adept at "wrestling matches", but she is getting so much better at paw-to-paw combat. She is not one for chasing balls or playing fetch, preferring chase to anything.

Fiona really does go just about everywhere with us. People have even started to express surprise if they ever see us without her (usually, the only time she is not with us is when we go to a restaurant). Everyone tells us what a wonderful puppy she is, and we are always getting asked what kind of dog she is because she is so cute! We tell them how wonderful Magnificent Mutts is and direct them to your organization if they are interested in getting a dog.

We tell each other every day how very lucky we are to have found the most perfect, amazing pup there ever was. She continues to be a constant source of entertainment, fun, spunk, and cuteness. We can't wait to watch her and Grace develop a deep friendship that can only be between a girl and her dog. Thank you again for all the love, care, training, and attention you gave to Blondie when she was living with you. She clearly flourished under your care.

Enjoy the pictures of our little girl (I have hundreds more, if you would like to see them!)... she has grown so much since we brought her home almost 2 years ago!

Mr Oz

Just an update on Mr Oz. We adopted 2 years ago. Was not easy at first, now he runs the office! We enjoy him and he loves being "at work" Thank you for all the wonderful hard work you all do!

Spacey Macey (Kendra)

Macey is a little ball of adorable energy! The minute we saw her picture on petfinder we filled out an application instantly. Once they Magnifent Mutts said we could take her we where in a frantic. We were expecting a dog but not this soon and we didint want anyone else to take her. The first week was hard. We had to get her a crate, take her out at 3:00 a.m, and potty train her. Plus we had to pay for her medicine (she got kennel cough) and our other dogs shots. Now we are all good she enjoys her crate, she sleeps threw the night, all healthy, and we are getting better at potty training. Macey really is a Magnificent Mutt!:)

Romy

Magnificent Mutts - I'm attaching a photo of Romy - according to our adoption records, today is his first birthday! He is truly a magnificent mutt - he's sweet, great with our older Lab and our cats, and amazing with kids....he has really enriched our lives! Thank you - for all the dogs that you save, but especially for bringing this adorable Lab mix into our home and into our hearts! We hope that his Mom and all of his littermates have found homes that love them as much as we love our sweet Romy (actually, we call him Indiana Jones, because he's a great adventurer!)
The Fay Family

Spacey Macey (Kendra)

When we first heard about her we where in a frantic to fill out the adoption form. The day we where going to pick her up all of us where worried she might already be gone. When we got there and she was still there I knew she was my future baby. When we brought her home it was a hard week. We had to get my other dog shots, find her a crate, try to teach her not to bite us as much, and potty train her. We weren't sure if we would be able to keep her. Luckily I did some research and now they are both healthy, she enjoys her crate, she stopped biting us as much, and shes getting better at potty training. She really is a Magnificent Mutt!

Oscar and Chica

Hi, Mag Mutts!

Wanted to tell you about our 2 adoptees from 7/2011. Oscar and Chica, now named Oscar and Kika. They are so great, personalities so different and so communicative! We think Oscar is mostly Border Terrier, definitely Terrier. He's quite the bunny hunter and fox hole digger! Happiest guy ever. Wags his tail even in his sleep. Loves to burrow under covers. He's a crackup! Kika, we think is a Chi-Weenie. More of a one person dog, but VERY tolerant of people that are not her person. Her fighting wt is about 10 lbs and she really hates the cold weather. She's been quite the trouper. She's more regal in her stature, but with play with stuffed toys. They've both been a great addition and thanks for doing what you do.

Hi Linda,
Here is a picture taken last night of Bella. The kids renamed her. She is playing with her brother Legato (also a rescue)
2 1/2 years old.
We are loving every minute of having Bella in our lives. She is the sweetest puppy...loves to cuddle and hug you.
