Fiona aka Blondie

Hello!
It has been FAR too long, so I wanted to take this opportunity to send an update on Fiona Blondie Bailey. She is still the most amazing girl ever and we love her so much. She became a big sister on Nov 27 when I had a little girl, Grace. Fiona is amazing with Grace. She is very protective of her, always checking out the person who is holding her, just to make sure her baby sister is OK. During my pregnancy, she became extra protective, to the point of putting herself in between me and anyone she did not know. (Once, we had a contractor come into the house to meet with us, and Fiona would not leave my side, as we talked in the hall, kitchen, and basement. It was quite cute.) The last two days before I went into labor, Fiona was glued to my side, every move I made. I guess I should have known that meant something was going to happen soon! I know she can't wait until Grace gets a little bigger so they can play together.

Fiona has been getting lots of exercise on long walks with my husband or at the dog park. She has become adept at hunting mice at the dog park, and will spend her time equally between playing with other dogs, playing with my husband, and hunting mice! And of course, the cold weather doesn't bother her one bit. The colder it gets, the happier she is. I just don't understand that! In the spring and summer when there is open water at the dog park, Fiona loves running through the rivers and streams and jumping in the puddles. She doesn't seem too fond of full swimming, however, preferring her feet to always be on the ground. She is still the quickest dog at the dog park, enabling her to beat out any other dog in a chase. She is still not as adept at "wrestling matches", but she is getting so much better at paw-to-paw combat. She is not one for chasing balls or playing fetch, preferring chase to anything.

Fiona really does go just about everywhere with us. People have even started to express surprise if they ever see us without her (usually, the only time she is not with us is when we go to a restaurant). Everyone tells us what a wonderful puppy she is, and we are always getting asked what kind of dog she is because she is so cute! We tell them how wonderful Magnificent Mutts is and direct them to your organization if they are interested in getting a dog.

We tell each other every day how very lucky we are to have found the most perfect, amazing pup there ever was. She continues to be a constant source of entertainment, fun, spunk, and cuteness. We can't wait to watch her and Grace develop a deep friendship that can only be between a girl and her dog. Thank you again for all the love, care, training, and attention you gave to Blondie when she was living with you. She clearly flourished under your care.

Enjoy the pictures of our little girl (I have hundreds more, if you would like to see them!)... she has grown so much since we brought her home almost 2 years ago!

:)Carrie, Jim and Grace Bailey
