Euclid

Hi Angie,

I just wanted to let you know that Euclid has adjusted really well to her new home. She was a little uptight last night, compared to today, but she slept on the bed with us last night and I've been home all day with her today. She's actually here right now "helping" me type by patting my fingers with her paw. Cute.

One of our dogs (Charlie) is having trouble admitting a new 'pack' member and is taking some work. They've had some altercations, but they seem to be getting less intense and we won't leave them alone, ever, until we're sure they're good together. Euclid is amazingly calm and seems to take the spats in stride. Charlie has trouble when he's startled by Euclid walking into the kitchen behind him (or vice versa). I think they'll both figure out how to deal with each other though. There's always a little adjustment period with a new pet.

Anyway, thank you so much for taking care of Euclid and fostering her! She's a really great little kitty. It must be hard to let go of critters, as you must get attached to them. Thank you for giving her to us. We'll take great care of her! Pictures will follow in the next day or so.

Take care,

Jennifer & Dennis.

Charlie

We adopted Charlie (aka Jagger) back in January. He has become such an integral part of our family and we could not imagine life witout him. We adopted him when our second son was about 3 weeks old. Needless to say, life was quite busy the first couple of months! Interestingly enough, the puppy woke us up more at night than the baby did! We feel truly blessed that we were able to adopt him. He's very sweet, has tons of energy and loves to play with other dogs. Thanks again Magnificent Mutts.

Griswold

Hi Courtney and everyone else at Magnificent Mutts –

I am writing to say "Thank you" for all your help in making Griswold (aka Raul) our new pet. It was such a tricky situation when the intended adoptee had to make the difficult decision to not get him and you were able to make him available to us. It seemed like fate (and your kindness) played a big role in filling up what was missing in our family with the death of our 13-year-old Lab, Buck.

In the 2 weeks we have had him, he has become such an important part of our lives and we all are just head over heels in love. His is the sweetest puppy, completely hilarious, and seems so bonded to every member of the family, each in a unique way. We can't wait to see the dog he becomes.

So thank you – for all the work you do to bring joy to people's and animals' lives. You have made us all (and Griswold, too, we hope) very happy.

Best regards,

Nancy LaBreacht – and Bill, Miles, Luke and Liam Hession

Lucky aka Bisby

I wanted to let you know that Lucky is doing GREAT!!! It's like he's been part of the family forever!

Right now he is standing guard at the front door of my office watching the people across the street. He likes to switch off between napping in the sun on the entrance mat and checking out what's happening outside. He and Charlie have been playing like old friends. Lucky is so much faster than Charlie that it's hilarious to watch them run in the yard. Charlie is always trying to find some kind of short cut to keep up! He's got a couple of funny habits - one is that he tips over his water bowl every day. I finally got a weighted bowl so we'll see how that goes. The other thing that's funny - at least to me - is that because he's so small he kind of goes everywhere. He likes to jump up and walk around the tile area around our bathtub and he jumps up on the storage box out on the deck to look into the kitchen windows. I've never had a small dog before so all of this totally cracks me up. But all in all he has very good manners and he's been very good with the housebreaking as well.

I'm so happy to have him and I just love him to pieces. He went with us over to my sister's house for Easter and got to play with all of his cousin dogs, including my sister's new puppy. Here's a picture of us - I have a hard time getting a good one of him because he always put his nose into the camera!

Hope your puppies are making housebreaking progress and all is well.

Heather

Bently aka Jack

Hi just wanted to update you on Bentley (aka Jack) whom was one of the lab/Shepard mixes we adopted from you. He was fostered with Wayne. He's about 13 Weeks old now and growing like crazy! I attached some pics of him. The last one was about a week after we got him. The others are from yesterday and today. We are 4 Weeks into our training with him. He's doing great! Thanks again!! He's been a great addition to our family!

From Foxy to Fendi to Fiona!

I saw a cute little German Shepherd mix on Petfinder last month and thought she might be the perfect match for us, so I applied and received a call from her foster mom, Diana. I learned that the pup had been in a kill shelter in Missouri (where she had been called "Foxy") and was brought here by Magnificent Mutts (where she was renamed "Fendi"). This little girl was timid, but most definitely a cuddler, and when the whole family came to meet her at an adoption event, we knew we wanted to take her home!

We wanted to give her a "human" name, as is the tradition in our family, but the poor thing had already gone through two names and we didn't want to confuse her too much, so I said we needed to give her a name that began with "F", since her two previous names had begun with that sound. Thus, she became "Fiona", and, like the heroine of "Shrek", she is a little princess! Fiona has been a wonderful addition to our lives. She is smart and quirky and such a lover! She is learning to play (bringing the ball to us, having a tug-of-war, etc.) and LOVES to chew. She is unbelievably fast and can race with the best of them. (Maybe she's part greyhound?) She sleeps in the bed with us and is always wherever we are. She has had a few incidents of mischief but overall she is a good girl and we love her!
Thanks, Magnificent Mutts, for all you do. Keep up the good work!!

Quorra fna Ashes

It's Quorra's one year anniversary, and we can't remember life without her. She has been the perfect GSD addition to our family! Our "Baby Girl Puppy Dog" started out at 34 lbs, and now tips the scales at 70 lbs. Quorra is a delight to all she meets, and is a popular fixture on her nightly walks around the neighborhood. Everyone knows her name, and can't wait to pet the big black dog with the beautiful, shiny, soft fur.
Not only is Quorra pretty, but she is a total smarty pants! She has been training since we got her last April, and not only knows all her commands, but an array of silly dog tricks, too. Quorra just started doing canine Nose Work, and is doing really great! We hope to compete with her at some point in the future.
All this aside, Quorra loves our whole family (including our cat who hates her). She puts up with our little dog's moods (he totally has an attitude problem). Quorra loves nothing more than playing with her little boy, and hanging out with our family. We can't thank Magnificent Mutts enough for rescuing our puppy dog, and giving her a second chance. I mean, seriously, who abandons a dog like Quorra to the streets? Their loss is definitely our gain!

Ozzy

Hi,
I just wanted to give you an update on Ozzy Bear who we adopted in September 2011.
Ozzy has adjusted very well to our home and has become very spoiled! He has a 115 pound playmate Hurley who is a Yellow Lab. We've put some weight on him since September where he weighed 45 pounds. He is now at 75 pounds and very healthy.
Attached is a picture.

Thanks!

Romy's Happy Tail

Eileen:

I'm hoping that you're back home and kicked back with a glass of Cabernet, or something else relaxing....

THANK YOU for being such a great Mom - Romy is sweet and adorable, and is adjusting well to life at the Fay Farm!

Attached is a photo of him, alongside our Tempus (106# Lab), with our Siamese cat WAY in the background....wanting to be a part of the action, but a little skeptical of the puppy who likes to POUNCE!

Romy's doing a great job at going outdoors....so far, no accidents! I'm sure this will end soon, but he certainly knows what he's supposed to do, and is hustled outside as soon as he begins to whine.

Life is good here......I want to be certain that you remember that what you do MATTERS! Not just for the puppies, but for the families whose lives are enriched with their love.

Romy's Happy Tail

Good morning!

First night went great! Forrest curled up in the puppy-proof bathroom with Romy....so he wouldn't feel so alone on his first night away from his littermates....while "the big dog" slept just outside the gate, watching his boys....

Day two, still batting 100% on going outside! I have a stack to towels, knowing puppies....

And life is good.....

Sarge and Shirley (Frick and Frack)

Hi All -

Just wanted to update you on the pups. They are doing great and adjusting to our home so well that we know they were meant to be here with us. We love them so much and are having such a great time. They already know sit and stay, and are walking on leashes :) Here are a couple pictures of them for you.

More pics to come soon...
