Monteray AKA Penny

Hi Melinda,

I was looking at the original web posting for Penny, the German Shepherd puppy I adopted in August, and who you fostered, and thought I'd send you an update on what she looks like now! She's 4 months old and a smart little cookie. :) She's definitely a fun, rambunctious puppy who loves people, but she's also very independent and likes to do her own thing sometimes.

Here she is!

Shadoe now Ripley

I adopted Ripley, the flat coated retriever mix puppy two weeks ago at the HIllside PetCo adoption event. I cannot say enough good things about your organization or about my new forever companion Ripley. She came to me already crate trained (big kudos to her foster family - they did a great job with her training!) and she has not had any accidents in the house. She tells me when she needs to "go" by whining and barking. That is pretty much the only time she barks except when she sees the horses which she is still very excited about so she can't help herself! This girl is so smart, she already knows "sit" and today she learned the command "down" - when i pat the ground she lays down! She is friendly with people and other dogs and has a blast running and playing with my friends dogs at the stable! She does have a serious obsession with blowing leaves and loves to chase them! When she is bigger and the weather is warm next Spring she will be able to go swimming in the creek
behind my house. I always dreamed of having a puppy and she is the puppy of my dreams.

Pauline now Samantha

Samantha is doing extremely well. She acclimated immediately to everyone and
everything in the house but the dog. She had him trained within a few days to
not come within two feet of her. The dog loves to play with cats...perhaps
someday.

After about two weeks, she has started to run up and down the stairs and seems
to have more pep to play (she is slimming down with lo fat food)

Thank you again for the care that you showed her

Cub Creek

Hi Michelle,
Hope all is well with you and your dogs! We just wanted to give you a update on Cub and tell you how great he is doing! He is such an amazing dog, we are so happy we have him in our lives. He has really come out of his shell and is a wild man! He has a lot of play dates with Ryan's parents dog Ange,l she is a Westie. They run and play all day long, he is such a fast runner and goes crazy in the back yard. He really is such a blessing to have, and we are so thankful for people like you that rescue dogs in need! We wanted to give you some pictures he looks like a different dog, his fur is long and he has a lot more of it!

Millie AKA Payton

Payton is our adorable little pug mix and she is the sweetest little dog. She LOVES to cuddle, she is very smart and she is also a very content dog. She is very easy going and has been a wonderful addition to our family. She especially loves our other puppy girl named Staley. They run around with so much energy and it is easy to see they are very happy to have each other. Payton's favorite games are fetching her toys, sitting and giving her paw and playing chase with Staley. She is 5 months old now and weighing in at 8 lbs. We just love her little mug with her teeth hanging out. She makes us smile every single day!

BTW, her name Payton comes from the great Walter Payton. Our other puppy girl is named Staley, as in the Decatur Staleys, the original team name of the Chicago Bears.

Shilah

It was exactly two years ago I adopted Shilah ( formerly Shawna ) from Magnificent Mutts. It has been quite an adventure for my pack. I wanted to adopt a buddy for my Sheperd Dexter and I ended up saving a scared and skiddish little girl. I dont know what Shilah went through before she was rescued by Magnificent Mutts but it had to have been horrible! Shilah would not let me touch her for almost two monthes and when she finally did it was a simple stroke on her cheek. She would run so fast to get outside and past me sometime I could not slide to door open fast enough and she would run into it. She would only sleep when I slept and that was far away behind my dining room table. There was alot of pacing and watching me. I have to say that my dog Dexter has been an amazing role model for Shilah; where Dexter goes, Shilah will! She actually will lift her leg to pee just like her brother Dexter! I just gave her space and eventually Shilah came to me! I gave her her first
belly rub this summer...it only took a year and a half but it was everything to me! Shilah and Dexter love the dog park and going for hikes. She is so social and loving, Shilah even was on the local news for the dog swim event for the Madison K9 unit! Now I just need a bigger house so I can adopt another :)Rhiannon Belanger

Matilda

Magnificent Mutts,

First, we want to say what a great organization you have. Without all of your volunteers we would not have Matilda, who we adopted in June of this year. She is a great first addition to our family. She is everything we hope for and more.

Matilda loves to run with me(Jessica) and inbetween chase squirrels. She is also very smart and has learned how to be an obiedient dog quickly. (As you can see below from her doggie training completion.)

I also wanted to share a few photos of her. She is just too darn cute!

Thanks again!
