Fergus Pope

We adopted Fergus on 12/03/2011 and he is doing great!! We love him so much! He is a great dog with a funny personality. He loves playing with his toys, sleeping in his comfy beds, and eating his favorite treats. He loves cuddling with his family in bed or on the couch watching tv. He loves going for car rides and going for walks. Thanks Magnificent Mutts for our great friend!!

Wendi

Hi Courtenay,

I adopted wonderful Wendi about 5 weeks ago and she is just so great. She is so happy all the time. She is really helping me get over the loss of my first dog about 3 months ago. She is so happy to see me and (almost) constantly wags her tail. All my friends and neighbors think she is such a sweet dog (she is). She gets along perfectly with my friend's golden retriever who is bigger. I've left her with the run of most of the house while I'm at work and so far she hasn't touched anything. She sleeps on the couch or my bed. I can't believe I got a dog that has all the good traits of my other dog. I keep telling Wendi that I'm so happy that I saw her on the site and discovered how awesome the Magnificent Mutts organization really is. Thank you all for being so nice when I picked her up in Westmont.

Odie

Hi Linda and Cyndi,

(Of course Odie is the star of his class so far!!) It's ironic too - Odie's favorite dog in the class also came from Magnificent Mutts. The pup is a female shepherd/cattle dog mix, named Riley, about the same age as Odie (15 weeks). They absolutely love each other so I'm glad they'll be together for the next four or five weeks or so. I hope they take the next training class with us too.

I've also attached a some recent pics of our little darling. I thought Cyndi might like to see how big Odie is now. I'm glad to see that all of Odie's siblings have been adopted. (I kept checking your website every few days or so because I felt bad that we didn't adopt Gabriel as well.)

Peony

Hi Michelle -

Today is the first anniversary of Peony's adoption and I thought I'd let you know how well she's doing. She seems really happy here - she still gets excited every time we come home from a walk. She is so sweet and affectionate - she still sleeps with me - and no longer timid. She and Cloudy are the best of friends - I've never seen two dogs enjoy each others' company so much.

I've attached a couple recent photos that I thought you might enjoy.

Keep up the good work!

Lacey aka Lauren

Hey Melinda,
Here's a few shots of week one. She has settled in quickly and feels right at home. She will be meeting the family soon and has already been "dog about town" seeing people and places. Suz has already taken her in to see our vet to get things set up and moving. As for a new name, we were looking for something different and fitting...so, Suz noticed she has an infinity for footwear, shoe laces, and all things stringy. So she thought Lacey would be a good fit...and Lacey it is. So here are a few photos of the lovely Lacey (Lu) smoothing right into a routine in her new home.
More later, Dan.

Raphael

Hi Karen,

Attached are a few pictures of Raphael and his pack...his brother, Paulie, a 6 year old Red Rottweiler...and his sister, Chestnut, a 4 year old Boxer.

I cannot thank Magnificent Mutts enough, for the work that you all do, and for rescuing Raphael and his mom, Red! He is just over a year old, and is an absolute joy to have in our family! When we first brought him home, we were naturally very protective of him and wanting to make sure that the older dogs behaved appropriately with him. So, the first time it was time for everyone to go outside, we let the older dogs out first and planned to let Raff out by himself afterwards. Raffie rushed to the door and made it be known that he wanted to go out with his brother and sister, and be part of the pack.

The only medical condition that he has had was an issue with his eyelids. They were in-grown when he was a puppy. We had our vet perform a minor surgical procedure, and that allowed him to open his eyes all the way. He always had a good spirit, but he was extremely excited once he could open his eyes all the way!

We think the world of him, and he is is very bonded to his brother and sister. They all look out for one another.

Please let us know if you need any additional information on the little guy, and feel free to share these pictures with anyone who may have known him at Magnificent Mutts! We are proud to have him in our family!

Best Regards,

Tyler and Cathy Reid

Ralphie (fka Rafferty) Update - 3 months in!

It's been 3 months, but it feels like I've had Ralphie for so much longer! He's wonderful. Any issues he had with separation anxiety are completely gone and he only chews on the bones and toys he is given (we lost a few shoes in the beginning, lol). He gets along really well with both our cats, is really enjoying our newly fenced yard and we go on runs together when it's not too hot out. I love this dog!

Astrid aka Nutmeg

I just want to send an update on our beautiful girl who we adopted in October. She had just weaned her litter of pups and was very thin at the time, but she looks great now. We can't believe how quickly and easily she fit into our home. Her name was Nutmeg when she was in foster care but our son renamed her Astrid (for the strong Viking girl in How To Train Your Dragon).

We feel so lucky that, even though she had a rough start in life, she is calm, gentle and loving.
